missing out

One thing that I've realized is that when I'm not not blogging, I'm not checking in on any of my friends' blogs either. I've missed a lot. I'll try to be better.

Stewart vs. Cramer

If you didn't get a chance to watch, CNBC's Jim Cramer appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on March 12th. You can watch the episode as aired and also the full interview that Comedy Central posted online.

It really lived up to all the hype.

Happy Birthday Leo

I'm an aunt again! My brother sent me a photo as I was about to start work this morning. Unfortunately I live in the dark ages of cell phone technology where I have to look the message up on a computer in order to view it, but I guessed what it was just fine. I'm also not supposed to put pictures of their kids online, so if you happen to want to see what little Leo looks like, I can e-mail it to you.

Meanwhile, here are his specs-

I've never understood why mentioning their length is so important, or for that matter why it's length as opposed to height. True, they're not standing, but does that mean that I stop being 5'7" tall when I lay down? What happens if I sit?

Back up and running

And that's all it took? Create a new post, and suddenly all of my content is back. That's just plain weird.

Speaking of running (and cycling, and swimming....), I've agreed to do a triathlon with my friend Brian. It's going to be quite a while before we do one, I think at least a year. I expect I'll do a marathon, half marathon, or other races between now and then though. We shall see.

He's tried and failed at getting me to join a gym for the rest of the winter. It wasn't the right thing for me. I'd rather run and bike outside, cold weather and all, than drive half an hour to pay money I don't have to run in circles and pedal in place surrounded by a bunch of people I can't relate to. I have a lot of ideas, so I think this will work out better in the long run (grrr ... no pun intended).

Anyway, this should be fun. I've been wanting to do a triathlon for quite a while now. That may sound mildly insane to some of you, but so it goes. I'm going to start up sometime in the next few days. I have Monday off, so probably then. Wish me luck!

Perhaps I don't exist after all?

Or at least my blogs don't appear to. I have a partially blank site where all of the posts should be. And yet, they're still in my account, just not where anyone but me can see them. Interesting. Let's see if this one shows up.

I exist! Proof pending....

I got a job in a bakery a couple months ago (HOORAY!!!) so I haven't had time to go online lately. My life right now pretty much consists of eat, sleep, shower, work, drive, repeat. It'll get easier. Not this week though, this week there will be overtime. So sleepy....

I've been learning all about the general day to day bakery team member stuff, plus I make the gelato and sorbet at least two days a week, and wednesday I get to start doing pastry a couple days a week too.

Gifted Hands, a TNT movie I was an extra for later last year, aired on Saturday night. If we can figure out how to in relatively short order, I will post a still from the film as proof (for those who doubt) that I'm still alive.
